Why You Need to Take Advantage of Free Panels!

We're in the COVID-19 era, right now and many of us are still at home. However, that doesn't mean that you can't be proactive when it comes to learning more about the Music Industry and finding ways to License Your Music!

The number one question that I get asked daily is, "Jody, how can I as an artist, keep up with this industry?" And almost always, my response is... "panels/events!"

There are a ton of free panels/events going on between what I do here at License Your Music and with other communities within the Music Industry. There's the Guild of Music Supervisors (GMS), the California Copyright Conference (CCC), Songwriters of North America (SONA), the Society of Composers & Lyricists (SCL), the Production Music Association (PMA), Variety, Billboard, ASCAP, BMI, and many more!

So, here are your action items:

  • Do your research and see which suits your needs best.
  • Be selective and choose a couple of panels that will benefit you weekly.
  • Take notes! Learn! Be curious and ask questions!

I'm not sure how long these organizations will have these panels for free, but the time for you to start being proactive about learning more of the Music Industry and finding ways to License Your Music is, NOW!

Once COVID is over, these panels are going to be harder and harder to come by, because everybody's going to be out there hustling, trying to get back to some sort of normal, just as they were (pre-COVID). Plus, most of them might be in-person and maybe have a cost. So, take advantage!

If you'd like to keep up with my upcoming panels/events, please check out my website at licenseyourmusic.com/events or just go to my website and click on the 'Events' tab. You can also input your name and email below for updates on my blog, podcast, panels/events, and more!!
